Personal Expectations and Performance record

Create a word document for each person that includes:

  • the details of each of the skills and behaviours,
  • why it’s important,
  • what it could look like at that level
  • Ask them to add examples of them demonstrating that skill/behaviour and ask for 3 people to feedback on that example
  • If someone is struggling to find an example, is this an indicator they haven’t had the opportunity and you can help?

Think of this as a long, version of the interview process where someone can prove their skills. Take a version of the next level up when someone feels they are ready for promotion.

Use this document for 1:1’s to speak about what the colleague has been up to, and any feedback they’ve had, along with any developmental gaps.
